MiniMax H3 Max is in the model picker. It is the quickest way to put a shot on the canvas, and it runs at about a third the cost of a premium model, which means you can be wrong four times before it hurts.
The name hides where it came from. MiniMax released H3 with open weights. fal retrained those weights on their own data, tuned for prompt adherence and aesthetics, then put it on their own inference stack. fal reports a five second clip coming back in about three, roughly 35 times the throughput of the official H3 endpoint, and ranks it first on their own evaluation and on Artificial Analysis and Design Arena.
The first three attempts
Nobody gets the shot on the first prompt. You know the scene, and you do not yet know whether the camera should rise or push, whether she walks into the light or out of it. That is three or four attempts, and on a premium model those attempts are the expensive part of the day.
Block it on H3 Max instead. Get the movement right while it is cheap, then run the take you are keeping on whatever the sequence is cut with. The start frame carries across, so nothing about the plate changes when the model does.
Cask Studio quotes every generation before it spends anything, on every model, so switching between them is a decision rather than a gamble.
Straight off a still
The plate came first. A Nano Banana Pro still of an empty warehouse, one shaft of light, a raccoon in a trench coat some way down the floor. That goes into the start frame, so the room and the light are settled before the video model reads a word.
Then a deliberately crowded prompt. Walk left. Boom the camera up. Hold the light where it is. Keep the reflection on the wet floor. No cut.
First take, no retries. Direction, camera move and continuity all came back as written, and the light stayed nailed to frame left while the camera climbed under it. The timed beat arrived late, which is the honest note: ask this one for where things are and which way they go, then cut for timing rather than prompting for it.
Spatial instructions hold. Timing is a suggestion.
Or just ask for it

"Do that shot again on H3 Max, same start frame, ten seconds this time."
The quote comes back, you approve it, and the card arrives while you carry on working.
H3 Max is live now. Give it something difficult.
